I was missing out on some summer vibes and this song is filling up my needs. Such a summerish indie pop. I love to discover music that fits the season when I am listening to it. This song so uplifting, so dancy, so catchy. Definitely will be jamming to this more.
Phantom Handshakes is a new collaboration between Matt Sklar (Exiles) and Federica Tassano (Sooner, Mônetre) based in Brooklyn, NY. Be Estranged is a collection of 7 tracks ranging from jangly indie pop to shoegaze-y post-punk. All songs were recorded at home during April and May of 2020 by Matt and Federica and mastered by Carl Saff at Saff Mastering in Chicago.
This is probably one of my most favorite discoveries of this summer. The album is so so good. I have listened to it several times and I am enjoying it very much. Listen to it from the start to end and repeat. The guitars, vocals, drums, everything is just perfect. I just wish this was released on cassettes.
There are so many releases I would love to see on cassettes… Maybe that s the reason I am releasing so much music on Z Tapes. 🙂
The best part of being a label is to receive a lot of submissions. Sometimes it is overwhelming, but I love hearing new music. That is the main reason why I also use Submithub because I can listen to music in very organized way.
This little album I received just today and I am really enjoying it. Kind of raw, but beautiful and honest. So good, just listen.
When Devil Town Tapes are releasing a new cassette I know I would love to own it. That’s why I have not hesitated and pre-ordered cassette with “batch_six” by boxset. Jsut the pure fact that it is released on DTT means a quality release I am excited to own. If you need more convincing, read this:
You know what it the worst feeling as a blogger, when you are so messy you forget to share an album you really liked. This is the case. I bought this record last Bandcamp Friday but totally forgot to share it.
This is such a beautiful record. I am so thankful that Ava from Oof Records send me this amazing record. You should definitely check it out.
The 21-year old musician writes with a wistfulness far beyond her years, weaving together pieces that are more akin to the greats of folk that came before her than her DIY/indie rock peers.
Sometimes the music is crashing at me like waves of the ocean and I am not really able to process it, but when my e-pals are sending me music I am trying to do my best to listen and share their music. So I have a pro-tip for you: become my e-pal if you want me to listen to your music. 🙂
Al Murb have been part of our seasonal compilations so I am very happy to share their music. I would call this experimental bedroom pop. Find some time and give it a proper listen. This album needs more careful listening to fully appreciate it.
SERF is the nom de guerre of Rory Maxwell, a Naarm (Melbourne, Australia) based solo multi-instrumentalist. Sonically planted somewhere on the spectrum between 80s counter culture and cheesy pop tunes, Rory feebly attempts to pay homage to his idols The Cure, New Order and Joy Division.
Metayouth is the project of Dakota Gilliland from Alabama, US. Dakota is a strong believer in DIY ethics and esthetics, and that is what drives his songwriting. He often hides sugary sweet pop melodies behind a wall of distortion, not as an accident, but as a creative choice.
I always loved fuzzy guitars. I was really into early Wavves music and this kind of brings me back to it. So happy that this single is coming our on new label Don’t Guitar Records run by my friend in Sweden. So excited for the future of this label.
What a beautiful indie-pop with such a great beat and very emotional lyrics. The best part was when I told Kaylee that I will share her new single. She was so happy and that makes me even more happier. If sharing music is not about making people (especially musicians) happy, I do not know why to do it anymore. So go, smash that play button and enjoy this amazing single.
Kaylee Marie Still is an independent singer-songwriter/music producer from Portland, Oregon.
This is Sagan Paisley’s first official release. It was inspired by the Butthole Surfers and samples “Everything is Going to Hell” by Teen Suicide. LONELY BOY bends a few genres, but nothing too out of the ordinary. The song in itself highlights some of the extents to which neglected and lonely teens will go to get someone to pay attention even resorting to self-loathing and self-harm.
I am really happy to share this track as it reminds me of the early stages of my blog. Also, I am very glad that the artist decided to put it on the Bandcamp. I always prefer to share music on Bandcamp. What a good lo-fi bedroom pop.
Usually when bands send me a single from the album to share I prefer to share the whole album. It makes more sense to listen to music as complete. This EP is full of great guitars and captivating vocals. So happy to finally share something from Ireland. I feel there is a great music scene in Ireland, but it is still undiscovered for me. I hope it will change in the near future.
Also, I feel like this album deserves a physical release. Maybe some UK based label could do it. 🙂
Two brothers who’ve been trying to put out an album for years – but haven’t really figured it out yet.
There is no much to share about this new band. They should be from Austria (I am not sharing a lot of music from that country). Their first album is out. Enjoyable slow lo-fi rock. A nice vibes for your ears. Definitely find some spare time and listen to the album in full.
19-year-old songwriter/musician from Connecticut. Everything is done completely by me from my bedroom<3
Another great bedroom pop, this time from Connecticut. Gentle, lo-fi, sweet. The whole album is great, but I recommend you check out “Sea Glass”. I am so happy to discover more and more talented artists from the bedroom pop scene. My most favorite scene in the whole world.

This song is so good and the video is a just perfect match. I need more music like this in my life. Cheerful, cute, bedroompopish. I love when I can listen to music over and over and not get bored. I just wish this was on Bandcamp as well.
You have to read this little story to understand this song better:
I wrote this song while I was on vacation in Colorado with my buddy. He’s been constantly trying to convince me that I have to move to the west coast, so this song kind of echos my feelings and the expectations vs. the reality of making a move like that. As per most of my music nowadays, this song was recorded mostly on cassette.
I sometimes wonder why so many people are dreaming about California. I have to be honest that I really loved Cali when I was there. A really special time. Seeing this video and listening to this song brings me some nice memories. I really like the distorted sound in this song, also it is pretty energetic. Nice dopamine for my lazy body.
Mall of America is about Minnesota, old flames, and classic indoor malls. It’s being released on Nice Guys Records.
I have shared vern martz’s music before and I am glad to see the progress of this artist. I am so very glad to see it on my favorite Nice Guys Records. I like this folkish indie rock. I can imagine myself sitting at a lake, listening to this music from boombox on cassettes, and enjoying time with my friends. I wish I could…
I am not usually premiering music, but when I do it is something very special. This is the case.
Community Swimming Pool is a project from multi-instrumentalist Glasgow musician Brett McCann.
It’s comfortable, familiar guitar sound of bygone, eighties days, and autobiographical lyrics of depression and toxic relationships make for excellent dreampop escapism.
The debut single ‘Upside Down’ is an ever-growing, sunny build up with hard-hitting themes about our troubled world. He’s here to set the mood for summer evening moments by the sea or golden hour at your local outdoor swimming pool.
Community Swimming Pool is being released on my favorite Backpack Records from Berlin. When writing this text I put this single on loop because it is that good. The guitar parts are just superb and the overall atmosphere of the song is so good. I wish I could describe the feeling I have when listening to this song, but my words are useless. Just press the play and enjoy it with me. You will not regret it.
For fans of Z Tapes there is no need to introduce a bedroom pop legend bedbug. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to work with them in the past. There is a new release. A great one. 100% bedbug. One of the best things you can find on Bandcamp right now.
Another recommendation I have got on Twitter. I like that platform and lot. A lot of great pals are there which are always sharing good music. This is an interesting experimental folkish album from London. A little bit more suitable for careful listening and paying attention to all nuances. Not maybe the best weekend listening but give it a try.
Sometimes friends recommend me their friends’ music and I enjoy it very much so I share it on my blog. Pax’s music is exactly the case. A beautiful tropical, summer indie-pop album with beautiful melodies. A lot of Baseball Gregg vibe here. I hope someone puts it on cassettes because this deserves a physical release. I would love to release it but out of capacities. Either way, just sit, relax and press play and imagine being on a beach and sipping cold soda or cold brew. Hmmmmm…..
I am so proud to write that this is an artist from Slovakia. There are not many musicians I am sharing from Slovakia, almost none and thus any that is great is a small miracle for me. This new single is gentle & beautiful and I cannot wait to hear more music from this artist in the future. Proudly made in Slovakia.
House Plants (the solo project of Kyle Stringer) is music created and recorded in bedrooms from the Midwest to the West Coast with pop and indie rock sensibilities. Songs began forming in 2015, first as iPhone voice memos, and finally taking shape in the form of actual recordings.
There are 4 tracks out from House Plants’ debut album and they are promising amazing album. I am sharing the newest one, the softest ones. The song offer variety of melodies and nuances. I am enjoying it very much. This last single is heart-melting bedroom rock. I cannot wait to hear the full album and will try to share it on my blog as well. So click on the link below and pre-order a great album.
You can find more music, cassettes and vinyl on Bandcamp.
Sea Grapes is a bedroom pop project of Daytona local Luke Janke. Sea Grapes focuses on the experimental meshing of folk and pop instrumentation, while lyrics are based on personal anecdotes and geographical description.
I have been aware of Luke’s music for a while and Sea Grapes were part of our seasonal compilation. They just released a new EP with 4 amazing tracks on which collaborated LIT. MAJOR (CT), Day Gold (FL), Mild Wild (FL), and Gav McIsaac (MA), great musicians. I recommend you find 10 minutes in your day and just listen to this heartbreaking bedroom lo-fi pop.
You can find more music and cassettes on Bandcamp.
I remember when I first discovered music from Eyedress. It has been a long time ago. A lot of things changed over the years and my taste evolved a lot. Eyedress has out a new release and it brings me a lot of nostalgia. At some point, I wanted to release his music but it never happened. Life is weird, but his music is still great.
I love when friends recommend me music. This album was recommended by Nads, my new co-worker on our START-TRACK YT channel. A beautiful mellow indie lo-fi rock from Philly. Just beautiful. Listen and hear for yourself. I do not understand why this is not released on cassettes.
sweater boy is the musical project by me (david moran). i started sweater boy in 2019, and i’ve loved every minute of it. i like to mix elements of indie pop, indie rock, bedroom pop, and alternative music to make my own sound. i’m from memphis, tennessee, but i currently reside in nashville.
This is just perfect music for summer Friday. So catchy, so fresh.
This is my fourth consecutive single. It’s a chill indie song with upbeat drums and twangy guitars. It’s all about reflecting on the places you spend time in, and saying goodbye to those places. I wrote this while learning how to learning how to ride a bike so maybe that’s saying something!
To quote the artist: fanclubwallet is simply just kickin it
I am sometimes a little bit late for some music. One case is Ashley Koett’s song, but it is never too late to share.
The Texas-born Coloradan is something of a quadruple threat: she sings, plays guitar, produces, and co-directed her first video. She codes, too. All of those talents bring their own form of creative expression, a unique catharsis. “If you’re laughing about something sad, That instantly makes it not as shitty.”
Gionatan Scali is a music ensemble helmed by Gionatan Scali, East London-based musician who originally hailed from Turin (IT). The Band’s sound, mystical and soft-core, relies on a hazy balance of overlapping layers.
