Today Grimalkin members issued a statement and list: “Grimalkin completed a statement and list of tangible ways labels and white folks in DIY music can actively and continually take to promote inclusivity and social justice in an ongoing capacity. The first slide is our general statement and it was written by several of our Black collective members. Then the following slides list the intentional and tangible steps that Grimalkin took prior to founding a label and the ongoing steps we continue to take to do this critical work.”
Zuma Creek is the writing/recording project of Florida-based Musician Nathan Fugleberg.
This is the third post about Zuma Creek and I am so in love with his music. The feeling it captures just getting directly into my heart. Aaaw…

I have been to Amsterdam a couple of times, thus this video evokes in me some memories. I am so happy to share something from Brighton, UK – a city I wanted to live in while I was in the UK but it never happened. Sadly.
Great lo-fi bedroom pop. Check out more music on the Bandcamp page.
You can support the artist on Bandcamp.
I have been lucky in the past and seen CocoRosie live in Austria. Their music is connected to the many memories I have. Happy to see a new track/video from them.
You can find more info on the website.
I have shared Parachute Words’ music before, he is also on our newest summer comp, so it makes so much sense for me to share with you the newest track Funny Heart. The track is mellow & very beautiful. I can forget everything else, close my eyes and just enjoy the pure beauty of it. I am so excited to hear more from this promising artists. Maybe it could be a great fit for our label, hm…..

Do you feel sometimes that music is going deep into your soul? You feel all the emotions. You feel everything. Asia’s Church is a very powerful and emotional song. I listened to it many many times and feel totally captured by its simplicity and yet strongness. Let’s try to experience it together with me.

Silsila is a music making collective based in an independent studio at the side of the Jeseníky Mountains, in the Czech Republic, close to the Polish border.
I am very proud of this track. Everything that is coming from Slovakia or Czechia and is my cup of coffee, warms my heart. This beautiful melow, acoustic, folkish track is something I would love to have even on my own label. Supporting local music always makes much more sense for me. So happy there is another indie music project from Czechia that I can proudly share.

Have you listened to new Spencer Radcliffe’s tracks? Do you love them? You will enjoy this sweet track from Vern Matz too. Modern indie folk. A perfect combination of folkish influences, good songwriting and very nice vocals.
Artist describe the track as:
An acoustic tune to keep you warm in the rain. A meditation on physical deterioration and endings and novels and large holes, wherever they may be. God is dead and the floor is falling so you better grow up quick.
It has been raining whole week and this track just perfectly fits into this mood.

Another Swedish artist worth checking out. I do not know how this country does it, but it produces so many talented artists. Sweden is twice bigger in population than Slovakia but we do not have even half the great artists they have. Also Swedish artists are always different from rest of European ones.
I love the dreamy, surfy vibe of this song. Each re-listening discover more nuances. The video itself is very unique and you can find more info about its production in description on Youtube.

Are you fan of 90s rock? Weezer? You will love this track. I have been always huge fan of this era in music and I am very glad Kaanvas is bringing it back. Love the pace of the song, how the verses change, how good the guitars and vocals are. Also a small big plus to name of song, I love book Catch 22.
The lyrics are great too:
You used to come over : Lay your head in my lap
That was October : I fell in your trap
Now its a daydream : I can’t explain
The moment that left me : This sting in my brain
You make me a fool now you make me a fool
I wanna go back now wish i was with you
Im stuck in the past now playin it cool
So it doesn’t hurt now this catch 22
I hope you forgive me : For causing you pain
Time is so empty : I made a mistake
Not loving you sooner : You bend and you break
But now im a loser : And you can relate
Just press the play and enjoy it too.

Finding artists on Bandcamp was always my favorite thing to do. Especially artists that are from Europe (from Scotland to be specific in this case). The songs are very lively, very energetic. Especially huge fan of the third track “Silk”. The lyrics are so catchy that you want to sing along after second hearing. I hope this artist gets bigger so I will be able to see him/them live in central Europe, maybe even Slovakia.

Dream pop from Toronto, Canada? Oh yeah! I want to listen to this on repeat. No words for this track, I do not want to ruin the first experience. Just start the track and hear for yourself.

“Devin World is the solo project of South Florida’s busy Vincent Medina, who songwrote for Dræm Girl, Alien Stickers, and Summer’s June. It was created in 2018 with a demo followed by two standalone tracks. He recently released “Aromatherapy” and is now writing his first album due this summer. In August, the project will move to Baton Rouge as Vincent starts a PhD program at LSU.” – bio from Devin’s site.
A short but very nice lo-fi pop track with catchy guitar and lyrics. To be honest I love sweatpants in general and a song about them makes me smile. I love how trashy the video looks too. If I have ever started doing music, it would sound similar to this one.

Sweden. When people ask where you would like to live in Europe, I usually answer with Sweden. One reason is a music scene there. I don’t know why it is the way it is, but Swedish music scene is producing many interesting artiss and band WY is one of them. Probably you never heard about them before. I have not, but I am very excited that I do know them now. Their beautiful track “Swedish Summer” got me right away. Somehow it captures everything I love about Swedish indie scene. Vocals, guitars, synths, Nordic vibes. I will listen to this track over and over and cannot wait to listen to whole album on Bandcamp in near future.
You can get the whole album on vinyl at Bandcamp.
What is Californian vibe? This is it. Guitars that are so surfy, vocals that are lazy. video that looks like VHS. Me likey. I start this track, lay back and dream that I am somewhere else. Not in Slovakia, not in rainy day, not in city. Summer, beach, ocean, breeze. Try it too…
Grace Gillespie is London based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer.
“Grace Gillespie is supported by PRS Foundation’s Women Make Music” – footnote at Grace’s website. I always loved music made by women. Unfortunately it is usually very underrated in music world dominated by men. I am always excited to find a new promising female artist, especially coming out of Europe – Great Britain to be exact. If you were a fan of Florence or any other female artists with strong vocals, you would enjoy this sweet track. I just love this one.

How many bands do you know from Providence, Rhode Island? I cannot remember any. I am so happy I discovered Ugly Ghost music and it is very shame that he does not have a bigger following. His newest single “Aubrey Plaza” is full for interesting guitar riffs and very catchy, poetical lyrics. I really enjoyed these lines:
“So what’s worth still thinking about?
What’s worthy of my attention? What deserves my toxic doubt?
As I turn to stone in a crowd
Engulfed in assumed perception, firing synapses throughout”
dream pop from Boston, Massachusetts
dream rock from New Paltz, New York
lo-fi synth pop from Cassadaga, Florida
hazy dream pop from tokyo, japan
