Single: Tom Henry – But I Loved Her

The opening of ‘But I ‘Loved Her by Tom Henry is warm and gentle, enveloping you like a hug.

The folky strumming of guitars and Henry’s poignant yet haunting vocals make for a tender song, reflecting on losing the one you cared for most, which is only elevated by the lyric, “can’t be erased or replaced by the faces of those that I keep missing.”

A song about the ghost of love and its lingering remnants, it’s reminiscent of the early The Cowsills and The Beatles, perfectly capturing the vintage essence of Henry and wonderfully showcasing his honest and dreamy sound. Paired with the low rumble of the bass, it captures your heart and ears, genuinely taking the song to a whole new level.

The crescendo of the ending splendidly wraps up the song. It gets you excited for Henry’s upcoming album ‘Songs To Sing and Dance To’

Combining all of these elements together makes for a beautifully tender and heartbreaking song and one that definitely deserves a very high spot on your “on repeat” playlist.
