“Where Do We Go from Here?” by Guilty Party is an absolute blast of a breakup-makeup indie anthem. Right from the jump, that drum roll at the beginning completely keeps you locked in, setting the stage for a frenetic cycle of romantic elation and frustration. The song is an immediate head nodder, bringing this crunchy wall of sound and crispy sweet melodies that would be loved by classic rock and indie rock lovers almost immediately. It really captures that chaotic energy of weekend escapades and whirlwind romances.
The musicianship here is seriously impressive. The drummer honestly deserves their own pedestal, always perfectly introducing us to the next section with these beautiful fills and rolls. On top of that, the instrumentation tones, groove pocket, and articulation are impeccably brilliant. The color of that beautiful lead and rhythm guitar gives it the undeniable soul any rock subgenre absolutely needs to connect with an audience. To elevate the track even further, I think achieving better vocal clarity would be a huge plus, as the vocals occasionally appear to be in the background rather than the foreground. The lead and rhythm guitars could definitely benefit from side-chaining a Trackspacer or using dynamic EQ to the vocals, as this simple trick would really help the vocals cut through the mix and bring the lyrics front and center. Regardless, the energy here is infectious, and this song is an absolute must-perform at any of their live concert appearances.
