It’s like the universe knew exactly what kind of music I needed to listen to this week. This new single from The Style is turning lights on in my brain that I didn’t know were dimming or needed to be fixed. As a DIY enjoyer, finding out that this single, Cure, was recorded and produced by the artists in their NYC apartment made this all the more enjoyable to sink my teeth into.
The guitar melody that follows you through the full 2 minutes of this track makes me feel like I’m a young kid again. It’s like I’m transported back to laughing with my friends at the local roller skating rink and spending way too much money on blue raspberry slushies that make me look cyanotic.
It’s equally fun and nostalgic, shooting me full of dopamine and reminding me on a rough day that this is all temporary. If I ever need to slow down (which, trust me, I do sometimes), I don’t need permission to and I deserve to fully enjoy my life.
Vocals can make or break a song, and they hit a home run with this one. The tone of the lead singer matches the nostalgic vibe PERFECTLY and adds so much to the atmosphere. If I’m not mistaken, this is the first song released from The Style, and all I can say is, “Way to start out with a banger.”
Cure is now streaming on all platforms, and I urge you to take just 2 minutes of your time to give this a listen. Warning: It will put you in a good mood, so be ready for that.
I eagerly await more from The Style and give them a million thumbs up for this track.
