Filip’s Quick Single Picks: Yaehsun, Reuben Hudson, Electric Lecture, Bluhm, Mourning Coffee, Western Column

Yaehsun – Sun Bun

Let’s get to some surfy vibes coming from Toronto (funny, right?). An instrumental track to get you in summer vibes even though the summer is officially over. But as I said before, there is never enough of summer music in our lives. This one is really beautiful. You can find more music on Spotify.

Reuben Hudson – There’s No One Like Me

“Songwriter, musician, producer and composer from Auckland, New Zealand.” This song is a story about Rueben’s struggle with health problems. A powerful story is said in a song, but also the music made it stronger. I am enjoying the guitar bits a lot. You can find more music on Spotify.

Electric Lecture – A Winner

“LA’s Electric Lecture muse on the things you let go throughout your life, and the peace that comes in the acceptance of that loss in a beautifully arranged, stripped back art rock glower “A Winner.” A little bit of sadder melancholic indie rock, but I guess it is the right time to play songs like these in our ears. I am enjoying it pretty much. You can find more music on Spotify.

Bluhm – You Go First

if you follow our blog, you know we have been sharing Bluhm’s singles, and here is a new one. I am always looking forward to hearing more music from them. It always has a such special atmosphere, distinctive from other songs. A little bit of dream lo-fi pop will never make your days wrong. You can find more music on Spotify.

Mourning Coffee – Taken for Granted

Mourning Coffee is a singer-songwriter from New Jersey. Another song I have been enjoying thanks to guitars. I have been slowly realizing that the most important aspects of a song are just two things: vocals and guitars. If I like those, I like the song. This one with folky vibes is just great. You can find more music on Spotify.

Western Column – Club Orange

Lastly, we have a song from Glasgow, Scotland, home of my beloved Community Swimming Pool and Swiss Portrait. Club Orange is the fourth single from Western Column, the solo project of Dutch Wine guitarist Christopher Devine and is released on Negative Hope Records. Catchy lo-fi rock. Me likey very much. You can find more music on Spotify.
