Whilst we don’t agree with the “on the East Coast surrounded by hideous people” sentiment (for we heart NY), we can absolutely appreciate the delivery and application of Snake Lips’ rocking new single East Coast.
Coming across like a bitching combination of Be Your Own Pet, Idles, Ty Segall, DIIV, Best Coast and Alvvays, the Portland, Maine quartet, led by vocalist and guitarist Cody Mitchell, and cooking with gas at the moment. This tune follows 6 weeks after their previous single, the equally brilliant Thumbs Up.
“Life just sucks, can’t go on”, Mitchell sings in the chorus of this spiky, punky, garage rock tune – we hope that’s not the case coz we need more of this shit, please. Like yesterday. Oh, we’ve just seen that both the recent tracks are taken from their forthcoming album Cat Beach, which you can pre-order here. Phew.
