The first song from the forthcoming Over The Prairie EP (out on cassette, no less, in September via the excellent Repeating Cloud label) is “Kingdom Crime”, Upper Narrows’ first new music in nearly two years.
Built around a simple, persistent electronic percussive base, Upper Narrows (also known as Portland, Maine-based songwriter and producer Tyler Jackson) adds squelchy synths, fuzzy lead lines, and layers of lush tones to craft a sparkling tapestry of sound.
Jackson has also had songwriting responsibilities in rock outfits Foam Castles and Golden Rules The Thumb, as well as the avant-pop group Finger Food. He certainly is a busy boy.
