LULU BIANCO is a new Swiss energetic post-punk/new wave project that has been gaining some recognition in the Swiss underground. The band shared a little insight about the song with us:
“Gazelle” rushes forward on urgent post-punk guitars and a dreamy lead line. A hypnotic anthem of young love, echoing the moods of DIIV and The Cure.
I could definitely hear the post-punk influences tied to dreamy indie rock, as seen in the work of DIIV or Beach Fossils. The song is quite energetic, clocking in under 3 minutes, and will captivate you right away with its infectious melody. Additionally, they are singing in the music in German, which could be translated as “We run fast like a gazelle,” and the melody feels exactly like that.
The lyrics share glimpses of memories, conveying the overall impression that we need to run like a gazelle. You can find your own meaning in it, so I will share the full lyrics in German below, allowing you to explore it yourself. I am also dusting off my German when listening to this one. I cannot remember if we ever shared a post-punk, dreamy track sung in German, so this makes it special.
I could see this being quite energetic live, and the audience would dance to this so hard. I would! What a great, energetic track! I am intrigued to see what the band will create next, and I will gladly check it out. In the meantime, I will dance to this one at home, sitting on the couch, as that is my ultimate blogging position. Writing and dancing on the sofa.
