My friend Erik (porch kiss, rosetan, no kids, pets ok) has recently embarked on an exciting new venture. He’s launched a label called nothing special, which focuses on promoting music from emerging indie artists. One of the latest releases from this label is an EP from a Nashville-based slowcore project called Dogma:.
This EP offers a dreamy soundscape filled with post-punk influences that perfectly embodies the essence of slow, lo-fi pop created in the intimate settings of a bedroom studio. The tracks resonate with a familiar aesthetic reminiscent of Erik’s own musical style, making this collection particularly interesting for fans of cozy, atmospheric music. Each song evokes a sense of melancholic beauty, wrapping listeners in a unique auditory experience that feels both introspective and expansive.
Listening to these tracks is akin to waking up on a misty January morning, where the entire forest is enveloped in frost and the lingering fog creates a surreal, almost magical atmosphere. The music flows seamlessly, reminiscent of that gentle, ethereal quality found in early morning light.
I’ve genuinely found joy in this little EP; its sound would fit perfectly within our label’s catalog, where we’ve always embraced and celebrated the charms of cozy lo-fi music. I encourage you to give this hidden gem a listen—allow yourself to get lost in its enchanting melodies and atmospheric tones.
