This is a quote we received with the submission:
“Powder” is the first track off the new, forthcoming album ‘Reveries’ by Letting Up Despite Great Faults. ‘Reveries’ is out October 11.
I wanted to create a song that included percussive elements that were exciting to me at the time: a complex mix of drum layers that sometimes had a semi unsyncopated rhythm, drum ‘n’ bass samples, and a classic club thump. Stepping out of our usual curtain of haze and shoegaze, I wanted to push Annah’s voice forward and let her guide you through the song. There’s a sentiment of aging and a longing for a truly unconditional kind of love that comes with it.

Even though LUDGF is primarily known for creating shoegaze music, their new experimentation with synthpop is quite fascinating. The melody is, at times, somewhat chaotic, but overall, the track exudes incredible energy, and it grew on me with each subsequent listen. It possesses strong pop sensibilities and will undoubtedly make for a captivating opener for their forthcoming album. We’ve previously covered singles from this album, and it seems to be shaping up to be an exceptional blend of shoegaze and dream pop, with intriguing new additions like this latest single. I can’t contain my excitement!
