“Julius Unger Bowditch was nicknamed Jupie by a roommate after watching a video of a recycling dog. Both in the moniker and the music, Bowditch holds onto his childhood through bedroom pop meditations on love, loss, and growing up. Bowditch’s minimalist instrumentation opens up a fresh perspective on intimacy, buoyed by a pop sensibility that makes the songs instantly recognizable.”
A little intro to the artist and here is a paragraph about the song:
“How do we overcome uncertainty and define ourselves? Maybe not knowing who or how we are supposed to be is okay. Like all Jupie music, “Sandbox” was written, performed, and produced by Julius Bowditch. The music video for “Sandbox” is a robot love story animated by Baltimore-based filmmaker Jake Armstrong (King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Yellow Days, etc) and has been shown at multiple film festivals. Under the Radar Magazine premiered the video and announced new Jupie record “Brick Hill.”
This song is worth listening to for two reasons:
a) It is really interesting dreamy indie pop.
b) The video is super cute and well made and I loved it.
I have shared Jupie on my blog and I am glad I can share another single. I am looking forward to listening to the full album once it is out.
This new song is so weirdly attractive and I am struggling to describe why, but I love it. Just listen to it, watch the video and just have a good day.
