East coast band Joyer has brought us the third single, “Glare of the Beer Can,” from their upcoming record On the Other End of the Line…The track finds beauty in overlooked details, turning street noise, household objects, and late-night clutter into haunting reflections where presence lingers even in absence.
In a statement about the song, the band explained, “This song is about being reminded of someone everywhere you go. It’s about seeing that person in both the good and bad things in life. It adds meaning to the mundane and enhances the beautiful things.” That perspective comes through in the lyrics, where TV glare, deflated balloons, and even the hum of vents carry traces of memory.
Instrumentally, “Glare of the Beer Can” leans on twangy guitars and steady, unhurried drums. The sound feels grounded yet expansive, like a late-night walk where small moments take on unexpected clarity. The twang gives the song its edge, echoing the way Joyer transforms everyday objects into lingering impressions.
I haven’t been able to stop playing this track, and it has only grown my excitement for the full record, which releases on October 24th.
