I’ve had the pleasure of listening to Nashville-based indie rock and dream-pop artist Jack Landess’ new single, “Adelaide.” The track radiates a warm, sunlit glow, weaving shimmering guitars and breezy rhythms into a heartfelt ode to love that feels both intimate and uplifting.
Landess shared the inspiration: “I made this song for my love, Jane. Her middle name is Adelaide, after the city in Australia, a place we’ve always wanted to visit together. It’s simply a surfy, dream-pop song about my love for her!” That intimacy shines in lyrics that float between admiration and enchantment. Lines like “Elegant from the start, radiant from your heart,” “My golden sun, who I adore,” and “My treasure, my treasure” turn devotion into hymn-like refrains. The repeated name and mantra “It’s you, it’s you” create a warm, immediate sense of affection.
Musically, “Adelaide” drifts on airy guitars and laid-back percussion, giving the track an inviting, dreamlike quality. The instrumentation lets the lyrics breathe, while each repeated phrase and soft refrain wraps the listener in the same glow of admiration and care the song conveys.
