This song was released earlier this year, February 2nd to be exact, and has amassed over 100,000 streams. There is a good reason why. I haven’t heard a classic, motivational, and positive song from the West in a long time – not since I was a pre-teen, enjoying LMFAO’s music, anyway. This was truly refreshing to listen to. Drummond calmly sings, “Let life shine through you,” repeatedly on the chorus, only to lead to even more affirming lyrics in the latter half of the hook. Throughout the verses, the singer delivers a soothing and beautiful vocal performance that complements the ever-present guitar perfectly, lending it an acoustic sound and ambiance.
From a technical standpoint, the song is delicately polished, and all its elements allow it to breathe (pun intended). Additionally, the good-vibe lyricism does not exist in a vacuum; a whole story is told here, and it is an uplifting one.
