Single: the LVP – Car Speaker Test

The LVP’s latest single, “I Feel Too Many Things, But I Don’t Have the Room,” from their upcoming EP, is a vulnerable meditation on admiration, identity, and emotional distance. With a runtime of five minutes, the track emphasises its sincerity by allowing a full minute of instrumental play to flesh out the mood – an enjoyable addition. Lyrics like “watch my face, not the road” and “One day you will leave” capture the awkward ache of crushing on a friend you can’t quite untangle yourself from. It’s both confessional and expansive, “Hug your kids… make the most of your life” hits like a quietly life-altering revelation buried in a sea of feelings.

Fronted by Steve Sbiroli, the LVP continues to carve out a unique space in music with what they call “remedial math rock.” The band, featuring Vince Camarista, Joe Wasserman, and Thomas Raker, blends emo, pop rock, post-hardcore, and psychedelia into a sound that feels both nostalgic and entirely their own. Active in the NYC scene since 2022, their live presence has steadily grown, and this sophomore EP, out this July, is set to mark an exciting next chapter.
