Part Violent Femmes, part Wolf Parade, part Nirvana, part Pavement – the new tune from No Big – Little Man – is a bit of an anomaly.
It’s catchy without being poppy. It seems simple but at the same time complex and intricate and it is charming and twee but also has an edge to it that is gritty and fascinating.
Only the band’s second single follows the first track – Younger!!! – which came out all the way back in 2023. Younger!!! was also fantastic and came across a bit like The Moldy Peaches trying their hand at a version of Another Girl Another Planet.
Let’s hope we don’t have to wait another 2 years for more from them!
