The Marvelle Oaks are back with a new song ahead of their forthcoming album, Fuzzzo. “It’s Tomorrow” is a playful, yet tender reminiscence about parties and parenthood.
A snappy, determined snare drum and bass combo, along with slinky guitar leads provides a steady platform for the partly spoken/sung vocals to reflect on the brevity of life. These are accompanied by the energetic and spontaneous backing vocals, which provide a sort of hipster indie rock Johnny Cash and June Carter feel. The song paints a familiar picture. One moment you are a small child at a family. Then you are a little older, trying out partying for yourself. And before you know it, “it’s tomorrow” and you are a parent yourself and the circle of life, and partying, begins anew.
This is no frills rock n’ roll at its finest. Life reflected through the condensation of a beer can at a party with your friends and family. Can’t wait to hear what other sonic treats the Marvelle Oaks will treat us to in September when new album Fuzzzo is released in full.
