Having been in the game since 2020, Texan slow-gaze outfit Teethe are back with the title track from their forthcoming album Magic Of The Sale.
The track is a somewhat haunting but at the same time fairly whimsical feeling indie rock sleeping giant. It begins rather unassumingly, building over time and developing into a fully fleshed behemoth.
There are touches of quirky indie kings Modest Mouse in some of the instrumentation choices, several of the vocal arrangements remind us of Broken Social Scene, and the cinematic post-rock vibes towards the end have more than a touch of Sigur Rós or Explosions In The Sky about them. Suffice it to say that Magic Of The Sale is quite the amalgamation of components.
With acclaim from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Stereogum, Consequence, Brooklyn Vegan, Uproxx and more, the only way is up for Teethe.
