Single: Luce Cargo – I Don’t Belong Here

Luce Cargo began as an experiment focusing on improvised music and textures, and only concerning form, structure, and lyrics at later stages. The South Australian duo take inspiration from 90s acts such as My Bloody Valentine and The Smashing Pumpkins, layering plenty of guitars and swirling reverb to wrap you up in a warm blanket of sound.

I Don’t Belong Here is Luce Cargo’s first single since the ‘Paradise’ EP in 2021. The song explores the themes of isolation in a crowded room, loss of faith and community, and existentialism. The music is inspired by dream-pop acts like Slowdive and ALVVAYS, along with the melodic movements of American Football, but also swings into a wall of guitars akin to MBV. The song is entirely independently produced by Luce Cargo.

Paragraphs about the band and the song to get you familiar with them. I love the balance between dreamier parts with heavier shoegaze ones. It is working so well together and creating quite unique atmosphere. It was very refreshing and definitely worth checking out. The guitars in this song are exquisite and I have been listening to the song over and over. I am totally hooked.
