As I have been the only Slovak-speaking person on our team, covering Slovak music is, to some extent, a default responsibility of mine. I have been so focused on the editorial job and management of everything that finding time to sit down and just listen and write is scarce. I miss those moments, but I’m also extremely excited about the growth of our blog. I would not change a thing about this.
Glad Sisifus is a project of my friend Natan, with whom I had the chance to meet in person, and we have been discussing a future release together. That future is still not here, but he has been releasing new music regularly. This latest track was written in a winter mood while Natan was listening to rap and post-punk. The name of the song can be translated to “Should I be afraid?” and the topic is covering the insecurities connected to Natan’s moving from Finland back home (Czechia).
Last time we met, we were discussing this theme, so it’s personal for me as well, and I’m glad Natan put that into a song. Anxiety and uncertainty about the future are always something that I am struggling with myself, and I bet most of us can relate to it. I have been enjoying his dreamy post-punk, which will catch your ears and put you in the mood. I am glad we have such talented folks in Slovakia (or Czechia), and I am lucky to call them my friends.
I am looking forward to what Natan will make next, and one day we will bring it to you on cassettes. Pinky promise.
