Hot on the heels of their most recent single, Born The Wrong Time, Swedish indie royalty Club 8 are back with another banger.
Sneaky Feelings is a minute and 49 seconds of twee, electro/indie-pop perfection reminiscent of Au Revoir Simone, Saint Etienne and Belle & Sebastian.
It’s extremely catchy, very cute and instantly hummable. The subtle percussion. The discreet synths. The sparingly used guitars. The persistent electronic beat. All these elements come together to make something really quite masterful. This lot know what they’re doing (although, in fairness, considering they’ve been around since 1998, you’d expect nothing less!)
Since releasing their 10th album, A Year With Club 8 – their first full-length since 2018’s Golden Island – late last year, they have been in an extremely rich vein of form. It seems, at the moment at least, that this band cannot miss.
