Last month, Kinda Grizzly wrote about Club 8’s new record, Seasonal Echoes, a collection of bite-sized tracks from the Swedish indie pop duo’s past year. Now, they’ve released the non-album single “Another Faux Pas In The Cathedral Of Hate.” Taking pages from New Wave, goth influence, and even flamenco guitar in some sort of way, the new track packs an emotional punch in well under two minutes. Karolina Komstedt’s vocals are as hushed but urgent as ever, and the music follows the stark and atmospheric line of thought that Club 8 have experimented with since their comeback A Year With Club 8 in 2024. But as soon as the track begins, it’s done, leaving you wanting much more.
Never fear. More new music is coming from Club 8 soon, along with a limited vinyl release of Seasonal Echoes in December. Lyrical gem from the track: “Time to get even/Make our own rules/Say they’re old fools.”
