“Red Bandana” is a fuzzy blend of Weezer meets Teenage Fanclub, a powerful first single from Loserdom, the upcoming second album from Ben Auld.
There is no hanging around: The song jumps in immediately with its bubblegum sweet vocals counteracting with the crunchy guitars and a solo that could be born out of a classic metal song. This is just a quick glimpse of what Auld has to offer with his sophomore project.
As someone who spent their formative years amongst the Scottish indie music scene, to me, this nod to “A Catholic Education” by Teenage Fanclub fills me with excitement for what is yet to come.
