July is THE month that I feel the most moody, the unbearable Florida sun frying my skin, and motivation in a matter of minutes does that to me. It doesn’t help that hurricane season is hanging over our heads, waiting to strike without much notice. To combat these anxieties, I require daily doses of life-changing music; Wilshaw never disappoints me there.
hard month was released in mid-June, not long after I covered their other single, lazy. This newer track has the same kind of vibes as lazy, very introspective lyrics with chill instrumentals that speak to the soul. Both singles are off Wilshaw’s upcoming EP, “i dont know anything you dont”, set to release on August 8th of this year. All songs on the EP were written and produced by the genius Kieran Alexander, as always.
I adore the two singles released so far from this upcoming EP, so I couldn’t be more excited for the rest to come out. There are so many sweet things to chew on during this song; the indie (almost psychedelic) foundation reminds me of artists like Strange Pilgrim, and the authentic lyrics are what make me feel more of an emotional connection to Wilshaw. This song feels like an explanation for things done and left undone, and the acoustic bit about a minute from the end is so raw and a gorgeous gem to add in.
