California-based band Tilted Earth have so far kept their cards pretty close to its chest – from what I could see, there is a dearth of information out there in cyberspace. Perhaps this will change, or perhaps they just prefer to let the music do the talking!
It looks like they started releasing music only last year, and so far in 2025, they have released 6 singles. ‘Next Year’ is their 7th.
It’s immediately obvious that Tilted Earth have a really warm and polished sound. There’s lots of space and clarity in the mix, and the band sound like they’ve been playing together for years. The vocal is wonderfully crisp and clear, with a relaxed and intimate delivery which focuses attention in a cool way. I particularly liked those occasional falsetto notes, which added a nice twist.
They sing:
“When I see you, I remember what it’s like to be in love.
I’d tell you how much I miss the feeling,
but the words are not enough to change things between us.
So, well try again next year”
This is a slow-burning indie folk track with a little country sensibility – the warm twang of the guitars, the glimpses of heartache – it’s all there, and melodically this is like a warm hug – a subtle, satisfying song that cruises along feeling self-assured and soulful.
‘Next Year’ is, in fact, out now!
