Still Bones is an artist from Baltimore, Maryland. Remind Me Tomorrow is his brand new single, and he describes his music as “indie/emo rock, sometimes loud sometimes quiet”. I like the clean production straight away! The length of the song, which is 5 minutes 16 seconds, was mentioned in the press release as a turn-off. I find it sad that artists have been bullied into apologising about track lengths because of social media reels dictating the attention span people have online.
For me, this was an absolute delight, I would strongly encourage Still Bone to keep at it, without any care in the world!
The structure of the song is basically 3 to 4 songs in one for the average doom scroller, but for me, it brings the kind of joy that only bands like Rush can offer, it takes you on a journey through different emotional soundscapes, from semi-acoustic to full on Greenway punk rock upbeat parts, and Soundgarden psychedelic mid-tempo parts. I love the slow down into the last part of the song, the benefits of having humans play the instruments (do you hear that, robots?!), and eventually every time the singer screams “again and again and again” over all these different musical parts, the point of being stuck in a loop like Bill Murray becomes much stronger.
