The Chicago-based dream pop band continue their offering of wonderfully hazy tunes. After their debut single, ‘Uptown’ dropped earlier this year, you could not help but wait with baited breath for what would come next.
‘Ivy’, Snowcuffs’ only second ever single, picks up where, ‘Uptown’ left off; where the latter found itself pummelling ears with heady cacophonies of wonderfully bonkers waves of noise, the former takes a more subtle approach, allowing listeners to see already the breadth and scope of what Snowcuffs are capable of. It’s as hypnotising as it is noisy, everything you could want from a shoegazing moment.
With members hailing from influential shoegaze bands, Lightfoils and Astrobrite, it really is no wonder that Snowcuffs have appeared out of nowhere, seemingly fully formed. Any shoegaze fan should be delighted to add this group to their list of beloved pedal nerds; they are clearly not going anywhere anytime soon, so now is the perfect time to get behind one of the most exciting new acts around.
