Another BANGER from our favorite, Royal Oakie everyone! Traveler, by LUCKY, is a good-feeling, nostalgic track that was released on April 11th of this year –only a few short days ago. This is LUCKY’s debut single and I am very pleased to say this is a rock-solid first drop! This group is composed of Andrew St James and Peter Kegler of Half Stack, as well as a handful of Bay Area veterans…so I am in no way shocked that this single knocked my socks off.
The velvety vocals with the hint of rasp are exactly what this song calls for, and the campfire-esque guitar makes me feel like we’re all gathered around and enjoying the welcomed breeze of spring blowing through the trees.
This song feels intimate like it was made just for the listener’s own ears. But alongside that intimacy, it feels larger than life, almost like it would best serve the music community by being played to a large group of people. In that way, we expand the intimacy to hopefully make everyone feel connected to something greater than themselves.
I adore the folk vibes of this track and I’m eager to see what else LUCKY puts out. Sit under the stars, grab yourself a cozy blanket, and check out their debut single, Traveler, now on Bandcamp, Apple Music, and Spotify!
