Single: Signs Following – The Last Great Mystery

“We are a Chattanooga, Tennessee-based band heavily influenced by artists like Big Thief, Bill Callahan, Florist, and Songs: Ohia. We are completely done making our first LP and just released our first single “The Last Great Mystery.” This single pulls from the country and folk traditions, utilizing instruments like lapsteel to get across a sense of longing. The lyrics, however, are closer to those of bands like Silver Jews. They are rich and heavy with imagery attempting to notice the natural and mythical worlds inside our modern one.”

The debut single from this band is a thing of beauty, a perfect blend of folky indie rock and slowcore vibes that creates an amazing atmosphere. Lapsteel’s magical work on this track is simply awe-inspiring. With every note, I feel transported to the Tennessee countryside, where the first signs of spring are starting to show. The fresh scent of trees and grass fills my nostrils as I close my eyes and let this mellow ballad take me on a journey. The song paints a vivid picture in my mind, of rolling hills and green fields stretching out before me as I bask in the warm glow of the sun. It’s a truly enchanting experience that I can’t get enough of.
