We have written in a previous post about Matt Messore and his other projects, Cathedral Bells and Midi Memory. The short bio once again introduced us closer to the third project:
Rooted in cassette-recorded sketches, analog warmth, and minimal arrangements, the project drifts between melody and atmosphere, embracing imperfection and restraint. Emerging as Messore makes a new home in Los Angeles, running empty sounds like half-remembered songs, late drives, and the hum left behind when everything else goes quiet…
I can definitely hear influence in music like Orchid Mantis. Analog, lo-fi, warm sound that creates a mesmerizing atmosphere that will linger in your ears like a sweet-and-sour treat. I am sitting outside, the sunshine beams touch my skin, and I feel the goodness of life. This type of music is helping me to slow down, just putting it in loop to get lost. Lost and found in the ocean of lo-fi sound that is enveloping you like a warm spring sunshine, which is a sign of summer coming, when the gloomy weather will no longer be a thing.
Short track without locals, but with so much power to create an atmosphere that will not be forgotten. I will revisit it over and over and cannot wait for the next collaboration with Orchid Mantis and Matt Messore’s projects. I sometimes wish we did a cassette together for any of these projects, as it would be more personal for me.
