“(It’s Not) The End of the World” features a driving bass line, sparkling guitar tones and a vocal melody that ties everything together. The sound is bound to have your head bouncing to the beat, and have you swaying as you settle into the lyrics. The single depicts the feelings of being stuck in your ways and trying to figure out what you must do to change. Paralyzed by what keeps you up at night, be it past mistakes or current difficult circumstances, you feel like you can’t do anything other than lie down and see the world pass you by. Everything builds towards a fall to only build back up again. There’s a realization that this feeling will pass and that it is in fact, (probably) not the end of the world”
This quote shares an enchanting description of a new single from a dreamy indie rock band based in Charlotte, NC. The bass line is particularly mesmerizing, adding incredible structure to the entire song. Even though I couldn’t quite remember which bands they reminded me of, the sound was already etched in my mind, creating a personal connection. I particularly appreciated the subtle shoegaze influence and the overall dreamy atmosphere the song conveyed. As mentioned in the quote, the seamless integration of instruments and vocals made for a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience. What a lovely track this one is!
As a bonus, you can listen to the other dreamy single Just Friends that accompanied this track and served as a B side single.
