Single: Pale Sailor – shrimply the best

“Female-fronted emo from Sheffield for fans of Sweet Pill, Origami Angel & Paramore.”

Cool intro to the band, right?

Reviewing this song might be challenging, as I am incredibly biased when it comes to this band, having discovered them just this year. Still, I have been so captivated by them that I wanted to share their music with you.

Unfortunately, due to the dire situation with the label, I had to cancel my plans, which still bums me to this day, but well, this is life. Sometimes you are not able to do things you would love to.

Either way, if my confession did not persuade you to check this band, your first listen will change your mind for sure.

The band also shared a quote about the single:

“shrimply the best” is a riff-driven, high-energy emo track blending cathartic gang vocals with intricate guitar work. Inspired by stagnation and seasonal burnout, it’s the lead single from our DIY debut EP (releasing October 2025), recorded mostly in an attic with just two mics.”

Besides stunning vocals, cool song name, and the math-rocky Midwest emo vibe, the lyrics are another treat that can make the listening experience even better. You can find them in full on the Bandcamp page.

Pale Sailor is the most exciting emo band coming from the British Islands at this moment. At least for me personally, it is one of the best discoveries of this year. I have been revisiting their singles’ Undoing’ & ‘Undone’ so many times that I lost count. This newest addition is just a fantastic addition to the EP that I bet you will love as well as I did.

In the future, I will have the chance to release this stellar band on cassettes and share it with the world, but in the meantime, go and check out their Bandcamp page and support them. There are not many talented emo bands coming from the UK like this one.

Put on headphones, blast this one loud, and get swept up by this track.
