Orchid Mantis and sign crushes motorist are two artists that, in my opinion, embody what the genre they operate inside of should be – in the truest and purest manner. Needless to say I was thrilled to be asked to write about this one. This is music that is raw, beautiful, delicate, unpretentious and stirring. Both artists put their stamp on ‘another life’, the product is a soft-as-can-be, slow plod through sheer wistfulness. Slowcore, bedroom pop, somewhere in between, who cares? This is just, honest to god, lovely music.
