Horn hands up and let’s rock! Would love to hear this song live for the pure, primal energy it emits in the studio version. Lyrically laconic: Mount Mural doesn’t waste any time on unnecessary words and just barely hisses them through the brutal guitar and drum attack, where the vocals sink into the mix, becoming their own instrument. After listening once, I’m spitting ‘That’s how you got to be’ over and over again and airdrumming in my living room. There’s nothing complicated about the beat or rhythm guitars, and that’s the magic of this song: two minutes of pure guttural impact from the feedback kicking it off to the crunching, building end thanks to the beat change at around 1 min and 15 secs. Do me a favor, guys? Keep making this stuff! It will never go out of date or be otherwise disregarded. A gem that I’ll go back to when I need a shot of caffeine and the espresso is out of reach.
