“During Retrograde” is a previously unreleased outtake from “Sigh Baby” (2023) that is being released as part of the upcoming “Royal Oakie – Summer 2024″ compilation on July 5th, 2024. The song was produced in collaboration with David Glasebrook (Sugar Candy Mountain, Sandy’s, Credit Electric), and was mixed by Jason Quever (Papercuts). I previously featured musician Jeff Moller in a short interview on our blog, and now Royal Oakie is sharing another one of his songs with us. This time, the track will be part of a label sampler set to be released in July. The compilation will include 12 tracks from artists who have been working with this fantastic Oakland-based label. I’ve set a goal for myself to share everything this label releases because I’ve been consistently impressed by their output. Moller’s new folky indie rock style exudes nostalgic vibes reminiscent of past decades, and it’s been incredibly captivating. The song’s atmosphere is wonderful, and it once again showcases Moller’s exceptional talent as a musician. A must listen.
