“Too Much”, a single by artist jackson travis, released on December 20, 2024, and I am excited to say that it has been dominating my playlists since I heard it for the first time. It has an incredible emo sound to it that is reminiscent of my favorite DIY emo bands and artists, like Heccra and Michael Cera Palin. In “Too Much”, jackson travis utilizes captivating, twinkly riffs on top of a really nice and crunchy rhythm guitar, the vocals mixed in an almost dreamy or hazy way, adding to the nostalgic feel that this genre already has. I really love “Too Much”, and now I’ve become a fan of jackson travis, too. I hope that my DIY emo-enjoying friends out there go and have a listen to this track, if not jackson travis’ entire discography.
