The new single from veteran Portland, Oregon singer/songwriter Great Horned Owl – the artistic pseudonym of Vanderson Langjah – is a delicate, somewhat haunting, but thoroughly enchanting, folk piece.
It’s a meditative track that feels intimate and personal, like a whispered secret.
The first new music to come out since his debut full-length, entitled Longyear, which came out in June 2025, Dust of Life feels like a continuation of that. The acoustic textures, the melancholy mood, and the distinct oxymoronic contrast of comforting warmth and almost eerie atmosphere.
