For the purposes of streaming services, Good Time Mystery Vision has to call the single “FMU”, but here at Start-Track, we dare not perform any act of self-censorship when it comes to certain four-letter words. Ergo, “FMU” – or “Fucked Me Up” – stands as a powerful track about the lasting mental health effects of a relationship gone sour.
The song is not necessarily new, as GTMV have performed it quite a bit and released a rollicking live version back in 2025. And while the latest version of the song gets the studio treatment, it doesn’t lose any of the energy that the band puts into their on-stage presence. The middle of the song features a mind-melting guitar solo that goes on for a good long while, and the ending takes it time, with the final couple minutes fading out with some keyboard magic just underneath the rhythm section.
This is the second time we’ve featured GTMV this year, as they released their EP Glimpse earlier this summer along with a handful of singles. Their website teases some new music coming out in September, and we have a feeling that’s not all the band has planned for 2026. Take a listen to “FMU” and follow GTMV on their socials to keep up with their upcoming releases.
