Single: Ghost Plains – Total Silence

Ghost Plains is a dream pop duo consisting of Rich Maskell and Adam Vaughan, who have been collaborating for years. The bio said they had been writing and exchanging tracks and ideas for a few years before deciding to make music together. They released their album back in May, and this is their newest single since then. They are working on a new EP as a follow-up to the album. The press release further described that the songs have been about a love for blissed-out, reverb-laden guitar pop. The duo have been crafting songs in their respective home studios (bedrooms) and collaborating via file-sharing services. A short intro to the duo itself, but let’s get to the actual single.

If you have been a fan of Beach Fossils as much as I am, you will love this track. Beachy, summery, dreamy guitar bedroom pop that will bring you a lot of carefree, positive vibes in this cold Fall weather. I have been enjoying dream pop for ages, and whenever reverby dreamy guitars appear again, I cannot resist. This newest track is so catchy; I have been playing it on repeat, and I’ve already decided I want to cover it, even though we have a bigger team of writers. I have been very selective about what to cover, but when something sounds like my favourite band of all time (Beach Fossils), I cannot wait.

Now I need to visit the debut album, which I will share below. I’ve made a new favourite discovery in the dream pop genre and cannot wait to hear the whole EP. I am already a big fan.
