Only David’s second single but arriving hot on the heels of his first, Always Behind is full of charm, introspection and intrigue.
Like legendary singer-songwriters Bert Jansch or Paul Simon collaborating with modern folk-pop duo The Weepies, this is a tender, gentle, compelling slice of modern, but distinctly traditional feeling, folk.
Written as a teenager, this track was eventually recorded as an adult at a camp in Geneva.
Switzerland has played a big part in shaping the life of Alpine (pronounced al-peen, by the way). He was born in France to a Swiss-German Father and an Australian Mother. At age eighteen, duty summoned him to the land of his father as he served in the Swiss military for 432 days until he reached the rank of sergeant.
Switzerland has been his home ever since completing his military service – but with songs like this it’s only a matter of time before the world knows David’s name.
