‘florian’ is the latest single from Marseille based outsider pop artist dan a. It begins as an intoxicating and unsettling shoegaze-influenced loner jam – very much rooted in the ‘bedroom’ side of bedroom pop. The production manages to tread the line between warmth and off-kilter anxiety. There is a lovely and unexpected change in pace and intensity around half way through the track, marked by a sample that precedes a harsh beat and lead guitar entering the chat.
