Single: Conflict at Serenity Pools – Summer Ghost

“Summer Ghost” marks the fourth chapter in CASP’s unfolding album Green and Blue, weaving together the radiant lightness of early summer with the deeper currents of memory and loss. Initially conceptualised for last summer but transformed into “Summer Garage,” this track channels a softer, more spiritual energy—Luke McQueeney reflects on his late father’s lingering presence, casting it not as haunting but grounding. The instrumentation carries a gentle, golden hue—flutes drift like warm air through open windows, while textures remain light and tinged with the nostalgia of a sunset remembered.

Luke describes the feeling as “dead space, a state of nothingness that still somehow brings him back to the present. In this in-between, between grief and grace, thought and body, he finds a way back to living again, to earth, to water, to feeling. It’s what early summer symbolises for him and many other people –long days of reflection that are both quiet and filled with quiet joy. Despite the track’s emotional weight, there’s an innocence in the instrumental that gives it buoyancy, like laughter through tears. “Summer Ghost” is a pretty paradox:  fleeting, but unforgettable.
