The sweet, sweet sounds of shoegaze bedroom pop have graced my ears again, this time provided by the super-talented b well. Lately is a moody and atmospheric tune that you can’t help but get stuck in your head. The vocal melody is dreamlike and wispy like smoke from a gorgeous passerby’s cigarette.
This song feels like a nostalgic late-night, a steamy car window, and the neon lights of the city wrapped into one. As a long-time lover of shoegaze, I consider myself a bit picky, and this song is a 100/10 for me. On repeat, this song can take me into an isolated, introspective headspace or straight into sleep if I deem it necessary.
Lately is my first impression of b well, and it’s a hell of an introduction. Perfect for the 2AM yearning loner, it was added to my top playlist within a few short seconds of listening. I cannot recommend this song enough, especially for people who dig shoegaze, bedroom pop, or are looking for a song to drag them into that soft yet comfortable inner world.
