‘icantbelieveiletyougetaway’ continues aldn’s singular approach to emo hyperpop. When an idea is put through the Reston, Virginia artist’s unique lens, you always have inkling of what a song may sound like, but ultimately, you could not be further from your expectations. ‘icantbelieveiletyougetaway’ begins with a guttural cry and a crush of jagged guitars and pummelled drums; think the heavier moments of 100 gecs, alongside the yearning vocals of Jane Remover. It is an interesting combination, one that is rarely encountered. aldn’s own sound world is a world that is completely steered by the artist, no one else could conjure up such desperate pleas of instrumentation and make an absolute bop out of it. If this sounds like the kind of thing you may be into, I implore you take a look and stay in the loop to hear more upcoming releases; I am confident that aldn will successfully, and easily, blow your mind.
