“True is the most recent single by Gordmin, written and recorded by the songwriter/oddball-pop engineer. The song exists at the intersection of slowcore & indie pop, infused with an uneasy, warbly electronic tinge. For fans of SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE, Alex G, and Jockstrap. The song was mixed by Slow Pulp’s Henry Stoehr, and has been featured on-air during radio shows by Derrick Gee.”
This is the message received with the single True, but I enjoyed it so much that I checked the full album. The 12 songs are blending various genres (as described above) and you can find in them elements of slowcore, indie rock, hyper pop, lo-fi rock, or slacker rock. The album has s a nice colorful palette, which makes it very entertaining and quite refreshing. If you like a little bit more experimental indie rock, this is a perfect fit for you. I have been enjoying listening to it and I am highly recommending it. Give it a chance and listen to it in full.
I have asked Jordan from Gordmin our 3 questions:
What inspired you to start making music and what keeps you making music?
I’ve been making and recording music for as long as I can remember! When I was young I had a near obsession with The Beatles, and I studied their songs endlessly and tried to make my own versions.
What was the most challenging thing in your music (artistic) path?
The most challenging thing is definitely finishing a song or a project. You can work forever tweaking this or that, and you can also really get down on yourself about whether the thing you produced is good enough. I’ve got 1000 Logic files that I bet could be good if they ever got finished. But sometimes making those choices can be paralyzing!!
What would you dream to do if anything was possible?
If anything was possible, I’d love to tour as an opener for an artist I love so much, like Alex G. That’d be pretty life-changing.
