Filip’s Quick Single Picks: CAITLIN, Lipstk, Jack Landess, Well Well Well

CAITLIN – Light Leak

“Caitlin Bradley (CAITLIN) is an emerging songwriter in indie-pop music scene, known for her sonic and lyrical maturity, infectious energy, and her ability to win over audiences with captivating performances. Her hit single “We’re Starting a Fire” has become a sensation, with its catchy melody and beat inspiring fans around the world.” A little quote from the press release that was much longer for the new single from this New Zealand-based artist. A catchy, upbeat indie folk pop with strong vocals and acoustic guitar. I can see this being picked up by big playlists and radios and media outlets. It has a strong potential and I am quite enjoying it myself. You can find more music on Spotify.

Lipstk – +one

“Indie rock band out of Columbus Ohio heavily influenced by Indie rock/pop, 90s alt, and indie folky stuff.”

“Written the week of losing a friend that was the same age as me at the time (27). We were both really sick and our journey of getting better is how we met. It seemed as though we were both doing so well when I found out he had abruptly fallen off and his parents had found him the night before, dead in their home. Going to the funeral with my close friends and paying our respects to his parents really shook me. I couldn’t get it out of my head that maybe I had no idea what I was doing, and I too might be just around the corner from yet another fall, which very well could be my last.” A really strong story, so I shared it in full. It makes the song more special and emotional. Quite catchy indie rock with nice guitars and powerful lyrics. You can find more music on Spotify.

Jack Landess – Hourglass

Hourglass will be the second track on my upcoming EP “Revealer”. It incorporates some thick riffs, quick beats, ethereal/shimmering guitars, and fat synthesizers. I wanted to keep my shoegaze-y sound that I’ve used in the past whilst also finding new, close and gritty textures throughout this project. The entire EP tells the story of a stranded wanderer in the desert trying to find his way in a desolate place. Will he make it through? I guess you’ll have to wait to find out as more tracks arrive.” A little bit of a different type of song, with a more upbeat, summery melody that will boost you with some fresh energy (if you are not drinking coffee). I am looking forward to the full EP which should be out in the next few months. You can find more music on Spotify.

Well Well Well – If I Can See

“If I Can See” is the first single to be released from the upcoming “Palm Springs – Demos & Deep Cuts” album coming out August 25th. It’s a collection of outtakes and demos from the band’s 2022 album “Palm Springs”, produced alongside Toro Y Moir collaborators the Mattson 2. The band is undertaking a US West Coast tour to promote the release.” Another artist from the label Royal Oakie, which, to be honest, I just recently discovered and planning to share music from. This is a catchy indie, synth-pop track from a San Diego-based band Well Well Well. It is quite fitting the summery vibes and I think will connect with many people. What a summer bop. You can find more music on Bandcamp or Spotify.
