“The person you were before never really goes away, and the things you regret never disappear completely. The past only fades, and the present bleeds into the old layers like a watercolor tableau. All you can do is keep painting. Watercolor is the solo project of Ohio musician Ian Chandler. “Permanence” is out now.
“Permanence” is a distillation of the regret and sorrow I feel because of the person I used to be. It’s a reflection on how that past self haunts me even as I try to make new changes. The pain I caused will always be frozen in time, but I have to remember that I’m not that person anymore—and that someday I’ll find a way to not rewind.”
This track is 7 minutes long, but it might be my favorite track with such length. It is so freaking beautiful. I have goosebumps while listening to it. This Ohio-based musician is masking amazing emo-slowcore music that you can easily fall in love with. I needed a track like this one so badly and I was not aware of that. It has some healing attributes for me, it helps me to call down and be present in the moment. I have been struggling with anxiety and depression past few months and this is exactly the kind of music that helps with that. I just want to put headphones on, listen to this on repeat, and just disappear from the world for a while. Ian, you made a great song and I am really thankful for it. Cannot wait, to hear music from you in the future. In the meantime, I will just play this on a loop and cry from happiness.
