The debut album from The Lonely Surf is going to be a good one. “Car Conversations”, the second single released from the album (following title track “Keep It Together” from the Bournemouth-based four-piece) is a polished emo inflected home run.
For the nostalgic among us, this strikes a chord as a type of pop-punk we don’t often hear as skillfully executed anymore. Melodic tweedling guitars meet punchy swells, a dynamic journey through “a stream of consciousness set to music”, quotes Dom Wright of The Lonely Surf.
“Car Conversations” is a big bodied song with many movements, reminiscent of a late night drive through a time we almost forgot but never wanted to. Take a listen to the new track below, and follow The Lonely Surf on their socials for news of their debut album coming May 8th.
