Swedish garage outfit Andronoids have returned with a new single, “In The End”. The band is setting a frantic pace in 2026: this release marks their fourth of the past three months, and it seems that they won’t relent until we’ve all collapsed from dance-induced exhaustion. Catchy vocals, at once raw and diffuse, ride a hazy wash of jangle and grit in this instant classic banger that dares the listener to remain immobile, knowing full well that it’s already won the wager.
“In The End” is a treatise on noise-pop maximalism, with roots that stretch all the way back to proto-punk heroes like The Seeds. The guitar and bass circle each other in a mesmerizing contrapunctal interplay of groove and hook, while the vocals showcase a throaty lack of self-consciousness reminiscent of Nouns-era No Age. The arrangement has a frayed, homespun quality, which injects the track with the dust-caked lo-fi sheen of something recorded on Robert Pollard’s own Portastudio four-track.
Even at its most frenetic, there’s a pining undercurrent of angst present here. When the bridge hits, the song pivots toward a cinematic urgency that brings to mind late nights of desperate, misspent youth—high-stakes, spent hearts, and a noble ringing in the ears.
Andronoids are four-for-four on deftly crafted pop gems this year. Let’s hope they don’t slow down now. Listen to “In The End” below.
